Mental Health Awareness Toolbox Talk Description

This event is offered online via a live Zoom session to enable you to access learning about mental health awareness from the comfort their own home, so avoiding the need to travel. Sessions are planned so that they can be fitted into a busy life.

By the end of this session participants will be able to demonstrate awareness and understanding about mental health, including:

  • What we mean by mental illness versus mental well being
  • That mental health recovery is possible and probable.
  • That mental health recovery is an individual journey
  • The impact of stress and pressure.
  • Sources of help for mental health issues.
  • Helping others with mental wellness.
  • Key facts about common mental health conditions.
  • How to support own mental wellness and resilience.

There will also be space for discussion about ideas about how to help your community in relation to addressing stigma, raising awareness about mental health and wellness and promoting recovery, including finding out more about Highland grassroots charity Mikeysline.
