Mikeysline Unveils New Mural at Eastgate Centre

Inverness-based mental health and suicide prevention charity, Mikeysline is once again celebrating community and creativity with another powerful art project.

Their vibrant new creation at the Scran Kitchen food court in the Eastgate Centre, is another collaboration with North Kessock based FRESHPAINT and the latest addition to the Murals for Mikeysline initiative.

Located in a key public space in the heart of the city centre, the mural celebrates themes of nature, resilience and intergenerational connection.

Scott Murray, Managing Director of Cru Holdings, owners of Scran, had the idea to host the mural - he said: “This incredible artwork is designed to serve as a visual reminder to all who walk through our doors of the importance of reaching out, speaking up, and supporting one another.

It’s a positive way for us to strengthen community connection and we hope passers-by feel uplifted and inspired by this masterful and meaningful piece of art.”

Eastgate Centre Manager, Jackie Cuddy, said: “This new mural for Mikeysline is a powerful and compassionate addition to the Eastgate Centre and we are delighted to play a role in spreading their message that it’s ok not to be ok.

Art has the ability to inspire connection and spark conversation, and by displaying pieces like this in a shared public space, we can remind everyone that they don’t have to face their struggles alone.”

The installation follows several previous murals supported by Mikeysline across the Highlands and Moray, with each designed to integrate the charity’s message, it’s ok not to be ok, through bold and accessible public art.

Allana Stables, Bee the Change Campaign Manager at Mikeysline, said:

“We truly believe that art and nature have the power to lift spirits, spark conversation and create connection. Each mural we bring into a public space is more than just paint on a wall - it’s a beacon of hope for anyone who needs to be reminded that they are not alone.

We are incredibly grateful to the Eastgate Centre, the local community and to Ian Bone from LAS Plant Hire LTD for donating a scissor lift in support of this project – every contribution helps us continue our mission of breaking down stigma and nurturing wellbeing across the Highlands, Islands and Moray.”
