Mikeysline Adds Second Weekly Support Day in Elgin

Mikeysline is introducing a second weekly support session for Moray communities later this month as requests for their support grow in the area.

The mental health and suicide prevention charity covers the Highlands, Islands and Moray via its text based, callback and in-person services, offering confidential and non-judgemental peer led support to people of all ages and genders experiencing emotional distress.

The additional date comes following increasing demand at their Elgin based Hive based in Caledonian House Business Centre on the town’s High Street.

Moray lead for Mikeysline, Brogan Bowie, said: “By increasing our capacity in the community, we’ll be able to help even more individuals access timely, compassionate support when they need it most.

Since expanding our services into Moray over two years ago, we have been met with such warmth and generosity from the local businesses, organisations and communities in the area. Their encouragement and incredible fundraising efforts have played a key role in helping our service grow, enabling us to support those who need our help and remind them that’s it’s ok not to be ok.”

Mikeysline CEO, Emily Stokes, added: “Since coming to Moray we have felt genuinely welcomed by the community, and their support has now allowed us to expand our services in a way that truly reflects local need.

It’s important to remember that you don’t need to be at crisis point to reach out to Mikeysline. We’re here for anyone who feels like they would benefit from talking, because early support can make a real difference.”

The charity currently offers appointments every Thursday between 2pm-7:30pm in the town centre and will extend their roster to include Mondays from February 23rd, which can be booked via their website at www.mikesyline.co.uk.

Hive on the Road: Launched in 2024, Mikeysline’s Hive on the Road enables support staff to provide accessible 1:1 support sessions in the more rural areas of the Highlands, Islands and Moray. The initiative was made possible by a generous grant from The Wolfsen Foundation which allowed Mikeysline to purchase its first transit van and enlist Vulcan Van Conversations to make modifications. Additional grants from McDonalds in the Community and West Fraser also supported

the development and ongoing costs of the project. In 2025, West Fraser remain our key sponsor partner for our original Hive on the Road. Our second Hive on the Road, launched in 2025 is funded by the Royal Foundation.
