Glittering Success: Inverness Glitterball Raises Dazzling Amount For Mikeysline’s Services

The annual Mikeysline Glitterball returned at the weekend with sparkle and style, waltzing away with over £42,000 in profit for their lifeline mental health services.

 The event, held at the Kingsmills Hotel, in partnership with Toe2Toe Dance, with main Sponsor Stagecoach, brought supporters out in force for two nights of show stopping entertainment, fundraising and awareness.

Featuring a Friday night electric performance from Britian’s Got Talent Finalist, Ru Mac, the much-anticipated dance competition saw local talent take to the floor all in the name of mental health support and suicide prevention.

 Overall winners, Abbie Mitchell and Craig Taylor on the Friday night and Brandon Swain and Nicola Alexander on the Saturday night, dazzled both the audience and judges alike to foxtrot off with the coveted Glitterball trophy.

 Mikeysline CEO, Emily Stokes, said: “Events like Inverness Glitterball don’t just raise funds - they raise awareness, hope and community spirit. We’re deeply grateful to Toe2Toe Dance for their continued partnership, incredible choreography and dedication to every dancer who took part.

The event itself is only made possible by the support of key businesses in Highland through their generous sponsorship, alongside our Main Sponsor Stagecoach, each dancer had an individual sponsor to help fund the cost of their costumes and dancers in turn raised funds to help support some of the costs of the event.

“Every penny raised is ploughed straight back in to promoting and maintaining our lifeline services meaning we can reach even more people who need us.

“We couldn’t be more proud or grateful for all the time and effort put in by every single dancer who were all outstanding on both nights.”

 Founded in 2015 following the tragic loss of two good friends to suicide within 48-hours of one another, Mikeysline provides support emotional distress throughout the Highlands, Islands and Moray, via text, face-to-face and other multimedia services.

 Their hives, located in Inverness, Dingwall, Alness, Tain, Thurso, Wick, Nairn and Elgin offer a warm and welcoming space for anyone to chat about what’s impacting their mental health, and for anyone in crisis and at risk of suicide/self-harm, and their Hive on the Road mobile support van offer help to those in our most remote communities.
